The data we generate is in need of a modern and scalable platform so that it can be stored, analyzed and presented in ways that are meaningful and intuitive to our customers. To that end, Accedian has created the Skylight Analytics platform, a powerful system offering novel ways to explore and analyze performance coming from various data sources, offered primarily as a SaaS solution, with the option of a private cloud offering. What will you do? Accedian is looking for an experienced System Engineer to join our embedded R&D team developing service demarcation solutions from our Montreal office. The ideal candidate has a technical leadership background, proven experience in system and architectural design and has successfully delivered large, scalable, reliable and secure solutions. You will work closely with cross-discipline engineering teams to help deliver product capabilities and features on our next generation Skylight products. We are looking for someone who is passionate about Embedded Technologies, SaaS, DevOps, moving fast, solving new problems and building outstanding solutions. Coordinate and interact with cross-functional teams (Software, Hardware, FPGA, and PLM) across the organization to develop the product or solution vision Analyze customer & business needs, and translate them into well documented system requirements Evaluate, select, and document appropriate platforms and technologies to meet both business needs and product / solution requirements Create comprehensive system requirements and architecture design documentation, which clearly convey the intent and ideas to the development teams Review detailed design documents to ensure consistency and alignment with the defined architecture Understand the technical design challenges faced by the engineering teams, and provide technical guidance to enable the development of cutting edge technologies Collaborate with management team to provide work effort estimates and develop project timelines Experience required Proven track record in defining and specifying solutions in mid to large software / firmware developments Telecom and/or network experience Experience with network protocols (TCP, UDP, IPv4/v6, Bridging and Routing principles and technologies) Experience developing embedded software systems and object oriented design Excellent communication skills; must be able to write technical documentation in English Must be able to build effective relationships across the entire organization, negotiate, influence, listen to contrasting technical opinions, and build consensus Methodical and detail oriented. Able to learn in fast paced environments Working closely with globally distributed teams and partners Additional Skills and Qualifications Experience and / or knowledge about Carrier Ethernet Networks and systems Experience or knowledge in network performance measurement methods and technologies (e.g IETF IPPM, ITU-T Y.1731, IEEE802.1ag, etc) Familiar with Network Management Systems and their technologies (e.g Netconf/Yang, SNMP, RestCONF, etc).
