Job Description
Lead Mechanical Engineer
Beech Island, SC
Position Purpose:
Provide guidance in the design, development and operation of manufacturing and supporting processes.
Key Customers:
Management, Project Leaders, Engineering, Research, Operations, Maintenance, Consumers
Customer Expectations:
Technical guidance on resolution of process and equipment problems
Technical specialist
Initiate, design and develop and optimize manufacturing and supporting processes
Implement projects and programs.
Carry out all work safely and efficiently, consistent with QMP.
Ensure work is documented and is retrievable.
Scope:
Incumbent typically reports to an Engineering, Operations or Maintenance Team Leader, and receives direction in the form of broadly defined objectives. Responsibilities include meeting team objectives and effective use of resources. Incumbent is recognized for technical knowledge in at least one area of technology, and demonstrates both personal and organizational sensitivity.
Qualifications:
Position requires a Bachelors or advanced Engineering or relevant scientific discipline degree or equivalent, continuing self-development and three years of experience in a variety of assignments. Demonstrated personal sensitivity and competency in design and use of engineering/scientific analysis systems/tools.

Project responsibility of $.5 MM to $5 MM
Project team of 2 to 10 people
Single or multiple projects
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
A Bachelor's or advanced degree in Engineering or relevant scientific discipline or equivalent experience, continuing self development, and engineering experience.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Design and Development: Provide guidance in the initiation, design optimization and development of manufacturing and supporting processes to achieve unit objectives.
2. Technical Knowledge: Develop knowledge and skills to be recognized for expertise and guidance in application of engineering principles and/or scientific analysis.
3. Safety: Carry out job responsibilities in a safe manner. Develop equipment and processes that meet safety codes, policies and guidelines. Provide for the safety and well-being of operators, maintenance and other personnel.
4. Security and Documentation: Provide guidance in security and documentation to ensure the retrieval of data and protection of proprietary information.
5. Problem Solving: Seek, recognize, define and solve problems/opportunities to achieve unit objectives.
6. Internal Control: Lead assigned projects/tasks to meet unit objectives within applicable Corporate policies. Place emphasis on CFI and Internal Control.
7. Communications: Communicate fully with superiors, subordinates and others who have need to know. Be informative without being obtrusive or vexatious. Communicate in a way that is timely, yet prompt; complete, yet concise; candid, yet accurate; and clear, yet responsive.
8. Human Resources Development: Assist in the development of others in the area of incumbent's expertise, while demonstrating an understanding of those with a diverse background or experience.
9. QMP: Provide direction and participative leadership in the practical application of the Quality Management Process in all assignments and responsibilities.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
